Congressman Harry Mitchell Announces Navy/Marine Contract Award
WASHINGTON (Jan. 17, 2008) - ICxTM Technologies, a developer of advanced technology solutions for homeland and military security, today announced the win of a radar contract with the U.S. Navy, which is valued at $777,000. Congressman Harry Mitchell (Ariz.) announced the U.S. Navy contract win, which is comprised of six additional STS-12000 long-range radars for U.S. Marine Corps' base defense. ICx Radar Systems, a business unit of ICx Technologies, plans to support this contract from administrative and manufacturing facilities in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Under the terms of this contract, ICx agreed to supply the SPAWAR Marine Corps Electronic Security Systems (MCESS) Program with six STS-12000 radars, contracted through BAE Systems Charleston to protect domestic and international bases from unauthorized intrusions. ICx expects to perform the work associated with this contract from its facility on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Reservation, with manufacturing support from Suntron, Inc. in Phoenix.
The STS-12000 radar provides automated wide-area surveillance, tracking and classification of intruding personnel and vehicles. Detection and tracking information is communicated to command and control operations for assessment and response. The STS-12000 is designed for force protection, border surveillance, airport security, perimeter surveillance and other security applications.
ICx Radar Systems provides radar systems integrated with cameras, tactical platforms and software for military and commercial customers in domestic and international markets.
