ICx Technologies Unveils CommandSpace
ICx Introduces Integrated Surveillance and Detection Platform at ASIS
Washington (Sept. 07, 2007) - ICx Technologies, a provider of advanced technology solutions for homeland and military security, announced its plans to unveil CommandSpaceTM, a new, integrated approach for delivering surveillance and detection solutions to government and commercial customers, at ASIS in Las Vegas starting September 24th.
As a single-source manufacturer of the diverse security solutions called for by law enforcement and security officials, ICx provides interoperable solutions, validated by government and the military, to address existing and emerging threats. By integrating its surveillance technologies, including leading CCTV, radar and thermal imaging solutions, with its broad line of CBRNE detectors, ICx seeks to effectively expand security coverage areas, providing security operators with more information sooner and giving them more time to confront and avert threats.
"The threat of terrorist attacks in city centers, at major airports, seaports, and critical facilities, and in border regions, is a critical concern for law enforcement and security officials," said Hans Kobler, CEO of ICX Technologies. "In these environments, security must extend beyond the fence to sense, detect, identify and begin deterring threats while allowing security operators sufficient response time to protect people and facilities."
The move is based on the understanding that current and emerging threats call for integrated systems that sense, detect, and identify intrusions; platforms that facilitate deployment of these systems; software that enables centralized command and control; and knowledge and solutions that allow all the individual pieces-whether existing or newly deployed-to work together for the sole purpose of securing an identified area.
"Once a threat gets too close it's often too late," said Kobler. "Ultimately, security is about the operator's ability to command and control a reasonable amount of space around their facilities and other assets to protect them and, more importantly, the people who are living or working there."
